Gandhinagar, September 18 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on Saturday, who will visit the ambitious National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) to visit Lothal in Ahmedabad district.
Imagined as a mixture of heritage, education, research and tourism, the project is being developed at an estimated cost of Rs 4,500 crore.
Lothal, once a major trade center of the Indus Valley Civilization and one of the early dockyards in the world, is being converted into a global center showing India’s rich maritime heritage.
NMHC has been aligned with PM Modi’s ‘heritage too, Vikas Bhi’ (inheritance with development), which brings ancient marine traditions in life through state -of -the -art technology and immersive experiences.
The campus will currently expose 14 galleries of India from the Harappan era, as well as a coastal state pavilion, four theme parks and a recreation of Harappan architecture and lifestyle.
A 77-meter-high Lighthouse Museum-Bill as the highest location in the world-a floating restaurant, a 100-room tent city, with environmentally friendly transport and large-scale visitor features, will be one of its major attractions, with its major attractions.
Officials said the project is expected to generate thousands of jobs, promote local industries and a major international tourist destination.
A marine university within the campus will also provide educational and research opportunities, which will strengthen India’s role as a hub for maritime studies and heritage tourism. With features such as the world’s largest underwater open gallery, interactive performance, and advanced digital installations, NMHC aims to provide a world -class experience to visitors, strengthening India’s maritime identity.
