Ahmedabad, October 1 (IANS) Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel visited the Sardar Sarovar Dam on Wednesday and prayed to the holy river Narmada on the auspicious occasion of Maha Navami of Sharad Navratri, which was a festival worshiping the primardial power of the universe.
Sardar Sarovar Narmada Dam recently swept away its entire capacity since the inauguration in 2017.
A government release said, “The water level of Sardar Sarovar Dam reached a peak of 138.68 meters or 455 feet, which is a symbol of agricultural revolution and revolution in Gujarat.”
The Chief Minister performed ‘Jal Pujan’ with Vedic chanting in a joyful atmosphere and prayed for the good and prosperity of the residents.
Gujarat CM also took him to his social media and wrote, “On the auspicious day of Mahanavami of Narmadari festival, the water level of Sardar Sarovar Dam of Narmada Yojana, the lifeline of Gujarat, reached 138.68 meters. Mantra.”
In particular, the dam provides drinking water to more than 4 crore people in Gujarat, including 10,453 villages, 190 cities and seven municipal corporations.
The Chief Minister inspected the preparation of the unity day parade in the statue of unity and obtained their feedback and interacted with the visitors there.
Ekta Diwas parade is held every year on 31 October, which marks the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
“This year, Ekta Parade is to be held on the special occasion of Sardar Saheb’s 150th birth anniversary, so I visited the parade site and received details of various programs planned for the celebration of acta day from the authorities and also provided the necessary guidance,” CM Patel reported a post on X.
