Guitarist, singer and founding member of the Grateful Dead Bob Weir has died at the age of 78.
Weir announced his death in a statement on Saturday. Instagram Page.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Bobby Weir,” the statement said. “After fighting cancer as bravely as only Bobby could, he made a peaceful transition surrounded by his loved ones. Unfortunately, he succumbed to underlying lung issues.”

He has worked on other projects in the decades since, including Dead and Company.
