Bhubaneswar, September 29 (IANS) Odisha Cabinet on Monday approved the proposal for development of model schools (other other students) at the gram panchayat level across the state, which at the gram panchayat level across the state under the major program of the state government.
In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the State Cabinet gave its approval to four proposals, including the proposal of the School and Public Education Department about the establishment of model schools at the panchayat levels across the state.
The objective of the state government is to build model schools focusing on inclusive and quality education in accordance with the spirit of rights of the National Education Policy and Education Act, 2009.
“By establishing a strong foundation, adopting innovative educational practices and ensuring active community participation, the scheme aims to ensure equal access to the education and overall development of the student community. This initiative is in line with the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020, and Neepun Odisha’s vision, and is officially said that he is focusing a special focus.
The state government has planned to construct 2,200 model schools over a period of three years between the financial year 2025-26 and 2027-28 with an estimated total financial outlay of Rs 12,000 crore.
While the estimated cost per school is around Rs 5 crore, the actual expenditure for each school will be determined based on a detailed project report.
In another important decision, the Odisha Cabinet approved a project for the overall development and periphery of the Maa Tarini temple complex in Ghatgaon in Keonjhar district, one of the most prominent religious places in the state.
The Odisha government has laid special emphasis on the overall development of the Ma Tarini temple complex located in Ghatgaon in Kenjhar district.
Talking to media persons, CM Maji said that the state government will spend a total of Rs 226 crore, including a project cost of Rs 146 crore and Rs 80 crore for land acquisition.
The state cabinet has approved the lowest tender (except GST) of Rs 146 crore in favor of M/S Dilip Construction Private Limited to complete development works.
The project will cover an area of 59.206 acres and is scheduled for completion within 24 months.
The peripheral development in the Ma Tarani temple complex in Ghatgaon will include a dedicated place for 216-bed passenger foundation, pilgrimage and interpretation center, food plaza, guards, market complex, offerings and a seating capacity of 500 devotees and a dedicated place to serve a cloakroom.
