Government formed panels to deal with repair, renewal of buildings, renewal of houses in Dal Lake

The government on Thursday formed a committee to prepare a policy to deal with the issue of repairing and renovation of buildings and houses within 200-meters from the Lake Lake, which was legitimately constructed before the High Court of Jammu and Ladakh on 19 July 2002.

Under the leadership of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, the 12-SUSS Committee has been asked to meet the criteria and eligibility terms to legally construct a building before the High Court banned, according to an order, a copy of which is with GNS.

The committee has been asked to determine the criteria by Boca-LCMA for repair/renewal/reconstruction of legitimately constructed buildings within 200 meters of pulses and Nigen Lakes about 23 years ago.

The terms and contexts of the panel include determining the criteria followed by buildings allowed for repair/renewal/reconstruction to ensure scientific and appropriate disposal; To suggest permanent construction measures using alternative technologies to adapt to the lake construction process; To suggest criteria to maintain aesthetics and heritage patterns and any other suggestions considered by the committee.

In addition to the Divisional Commissioner as the Chairman, Member of Deputy Commissioner Srinagar,

Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Vice President LCMA, Vice President Srinagar Development Authority, Director Tourism Kashmir, Member Secretary PCC, Chief Engineer U.Ed,

Chief Town Planner Kashmir, HOD, Department of Kashmir of Kashmir of Kashmir, Representative of the Department of Ecology, Relevance in the Environment and Remote Sensing J&K, and any other member, as necessary, can be coemed by the committee. (GNS)
