Google’s big push for artificial intelligence for smartphone users is heavily limited to high-end consumers, and that’s likely to remain the case at least until later this year. The company’s Circle to Search AI feature first debuted on the Samsung Galaxy S24 series and was subsequently launched on Pixel 8 Pro models in January.
But when will other Android users get this new search feature? Samsung has reportedly shared a timeline that may disappoint a lot of people. Samsung Netherlands recently revealed that Circle to Search may be coming to other Android devices this year, but not until after October 5, 2024, which may coincide with the launch of this year’s Google Pixel 9 series.
The source of this information is not trustworthy, especially as Samsung’s main division has yet to comment on the feature expansion. But Google and company are sure to have AI capabilities up and running on more devices in the coming months rather than six months. Bringing the feature to at least, if not all, older Galaxy and Pixel models newly launched in the market.
Pixel 8 Pro models got the feature with last month’s new Pixel Drop update. As the name suggests, all you have to do is draw a circle on any image to get detailed information about a product or any item from the internet.
That’s right, Google calls it “circle search” and you just circle to search, it’s easy. If you’re using a Samsung phone, you can do this drawing with the S Pen that comes with the Galaxy S24 Ultra models, or with the Pixel 8 Pro, which also has Gemini Nano capabilities.
