Last month, OnePlus released a public beta update for OxygenOS 15 for the OnePlus 12, its flagship smartphone launched this year. In the beta update, users will receive a notification when turning off their phone, indicating that the phone can be tracked even when offline. However, this feature has been removed in the OxygenOS 15 stable version. A company official told Android Authority that the OnePlus 12 does not have hardware for offline device tracking.
OnePlus 12 is equipped with the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and supports AI functions. However, this processor does not support offline device tracking. Qualcomm has added FastConnect 7900 hardware to the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, so phones equipped with this processor will be able to achieve offline tracking.
