Google Pixel 8a may get these upgrades over Pixel 7a

The Google Pixel 8a is expected to be launched in May at the annual I/O developer conference. We’ve already seen renders of the Pixel 7a successor, and now more details about the phone have surfaced online. The Pixel 8a is said to feature a higher refresh rate display compared to the older model. It may be powered by the Tensor G3 chipset to match the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Pixel 8a is expected to support wireless charging and DisplayPort output.

Android Authority cited internal sources as saying claim Google will make some improvements to Pixel 8a based on Pixel 7a. The upcoming model will reportedly feature a 6.1-inch Full HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,400 nits peak HDR brightness, matching the specs of the high-end Pixel 8. 120Hz refresh rate The refresh rate will be a significant increase compared to the Pixel 7a’s 90Hz screen.

According to reports, the Pixel 8a will be powered by the Tensor G3 chipset like the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. The version of this chipset may be slightly different from the Pixel 8 series. The regular G3 uses FOPLP (Fan-Out Panel Level Package), while the Pixel 8a’s G3 reportedly uses IPoP (Integrated Package).

The Pixel 8a is said to retain the same camera setup as the Pixel 7a, with a 64-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), along with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle secondary sensor and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. It also provides DisplayPort output support.

According to reports, Google will launch the new phone in more countries this time. The Pixel 7a is currently available in 21 countries/regions, including India, and the Pixel 8a is said to be officially available in more new countries/regions, including the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia and Slovenia.

The Pixel 8a is expected to be unveiled during the Google I/O event on May 14.
