Google Pixel 8a appears on US FCC website, will be released soon

By | Published | No Comments

Google Pixel 8a rumors have been swirling over the past few months. Google has yet to confirm the existence of a Pixel 7a successor, but ahead of that, the phone has allegedly appeared on the FCC website, all but confirming its arrival. The Pixel 8a is expected to support wireless charging and offer Wi-Fi 6E connectivity. It is expected to debut during the Google I/O 2024 event in May.

at the FCC Checklistfirst spot Through Droidlife, you can see a Google phone with model numbers G8HNN, GKV4X, G6GPR and G576D. These models are speculated to belong to different variants of the Pixel 8a. Google adopted a similar numbering scheme with last year’s Pixel 7a. The model number G6GPR appeared as part of a retail box leak earlier in January.

According to the FCC listing, the Pixel 8a will support wireless charging and offer connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 6E, NFC, 5G, and mmW. The listing also suggests that a release might not be far away.

Google launched the Pixel 7a last May during the Google I/O event. The company is expected to follow a similar launch schedule for the Pixel 8a. This year’s Google I/O conference is scheduled to be held on May 14, 2024.

According to past leaks, the Pixel 8a will feature a 6.1-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate and run on Google’s Tensor G3 SoC and 8GB of RAM. It is said to be equipped with a 5000mAh battery and supports 27W wired fast charging. Its dimensions are 152.1 x 72.6 x 8.9 mm.

According to reports, the Pixel 8a base model with 128GB storage will start at €570 (approximately Rs. 51,000). The 256GB storage variant retails for €630 (approximately Rs. 56,000). It is said to be available in four color options: Bay (light blue), Mint (light green), Obsidian (black) and Porcelain (beige).

At Google I/O 2023, the search giant repeatedly told us it cares about artificial intelligence, launching its first foldable phone and Pixel-branded tablet. This year, the company will use artificial intelligence technology to enhance its apps, services and Android operating system.
