Google’s AI revolution is gaining momentum around every corner. The company has launched Gemini AI in three versions that work on large machines, smartphones and others. But Google’s biggest change may signal the end of the Assistant on your phone and bring Bard to the fore in the near future.

That’s right, Bard could become the de facto AI assistant on phones, replacing the forever old Google Assistant. Details of these changes come via 9to5Google, which spotted the new rebranding in an app uploaded to the Play Store.

Just a few weeks ago, you were able to see Assistant written on the app and even in the introduction message to users. But the report says that the latest update of the same app now shows Bard separately and there is no sign of Assistant anywhere in the code trail. Knowing Google and its habits, it is likely that the Assistant is now giving way to Bard as the company looks for an AI overhaul in its Assistant on phones.

Does this mean that Google is ready to abandon Assistant in favor of just Bard from now on? The company hasn’t officially talked about these changes, at least not yet, so we’ll wait for Google to confirm the rebranding and also see if any new AI features reach consumers.

One could say that with the ever-evolving ChatGPIT now working on Android phones, it was inevitable that Google would look at the Assistant with a fresh perspective. Bard is probably the right direction for Google to move forward and shape its AI-focused plans.

The company has already decided to remove around 20 features from the Assistant, which hints at something going on behind the scenes at Google, and the latest findings give it more credibility. All You Know, Hey Bard, may soon become the wake-up word for Android users who want to activate the AI-powered assistant.
