Guwahati, 17 September (IANS) Assam is set to host the global music icon post Malon in December, in which Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday said as a major boost for the state’s emerging concert tourism sector.
Announcing development on X, CM Sarma wrote: “A major win for Assam’s concert tourism policy. Singing sensation post Malon is coming to Guwahati on 8 December, which is to thrill the audience with its performance. This is just the beginning, because more stars will land in Assam in the coming days.”
This announcement is the first time that Grammy-Nammine American singers, rappers and lyricists will perform in the Northeast, a field known for its cultural festivals and indigenous music scenes.
The concert is expected to draw a large crowd from the state and neighboring north -east, and officials believe it will help Assam as a new center for international concerts.
CM Sarma personally pitching Assam as a destination as a destination that the government has taken an initiative according to the terms of “concert tourism” – an initiative designed to attract global artists and fans equally.
This policy has been aligned with widespread push to the state to promote tourism and hospitality, as well as traditional attractions such as wildlife sanctuaries, river revolutions, tea estate and cultural festivals.
Padmapani Bora, Managing Director of Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC), said, “Assam is rich in rich biodiversity, vibrant heritage, music and culture, and has always been a favorite tourist destination. Large influx of tourists who aim more and more economic benefits for the region.”
