The late actor’s sister, Sara, took to social media on Tuesday, April 30, to announce the big news.
He confirmed this, calling his brother an “amazing and passionate” actor. Born in Bellshill A man died suddenly at home over the weekend.
Expressing her sadness at the passing of her beloved brother, Sarah said: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian James McCardie, beloved son, brother, uncle and dear friend to many. Brian died suddenly at home on Sunday 28 April.
Referring to Brian as a man who “loved his work and touched many lives,” he recalled: “A wonderful and passionate actor on stage and screen, Brian loved his work. He touched so many lives, and is gone too soon. Please remember Brian in your thoughts.”
“Funeral arrangements will be announced in the coming days.
He concluded, “As a family, we would ask for privacy at this time.”
For those unaware, he starred in several TV shows and films, building a successful career in TV and film during his years as an actor.
Brian had a part Irvine Welsh’s crimeThree episodes of BBC police drama line of duty, and the 1995 film Rob Roy.
