A delegation of the group of Citizens (GCC), J&K today called the Chief Minister and highlighted many issues of public importance.
Under the leadership of Khurshid Ahmed Gani, retired IAS officer, delegation expressed concern about the need to improve district healthcare, reduce unnecessary referrals in tertiary hospitals and strengthen cancer care facilities.
The delegation also emphasized strict control over the importance of increased investment in the agricultural sector, vertical farming and innovation and strict control on the conversion of agricultural land for non-agricultural purposes.
In the education sector, GCC asked to focus on teaching teachers training, introduction of courses related to STEM and AI and promoting Urdu teaching in relevant fields.
Issues related to strengthening startups, expanding vocational training, encouraging MSME-based employment and addressing traffic obstacles on the streets of Srinagar city were also flagged off during the meeting.
