Gary Lineker backs Arsenal star to win Player of the Year award

Gary Lineker has hailed Bukayo Saka whilst suggesting that he would vote for the Arsenal winger to become Premier League Player of the Year.

Saka was in blistering form yet again as he destroyed Crystal Palace this afternoon.

Saka set up the opener by picking out Gabriel Martinelli to fire home from inside the box.

The England international added his own name to the scoresheet before half-time, slotting home from Ben White’s pass.

Granit Xhaka added number three and whilst Jeffrey Schlupp pulled one back for Palace, Saka picked up another goal from Kieran Tierney’s pass.

Two goals and an assist is pretty impressive stuff from Saka, who continues to step up as the driving force in Arsenal’s title bid.

Gary Lineker praises Arsenal star Bukayo Saka

That’s now 12 goals and 10 assists in just 28 Premier League games this season.

Saka has been on fire and for all the hype around Marcus Rashford, the Arsenal star deserves to be in the same conversation.

The 21-year-old is just incredible and has now been hailed by pundit and Match of the Day host Gary Lineker.

Lineker has taken to Twitter to rave about Saka, branding him ‘irrepressible’ after dismantling Palace this afternoon.

Lineker remarked about ‘what a player’ Saka has become whilst touting him to win the Player of the Year award.

Saka is bound to face a major fight for that crown, possibly even from some of his Arsenal teammates.

Saka would get Lineker’s vote though and it’s a verdict many Arsenal fans would agree with right now.

Seeing a player develop through the Hale End ranks and potentially fire Arsenal to the title is a dream come true for everyone at the Emirates Stadium.

Defender just can’t seem to handle Saka and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him break the 15 goal and 15 assist mark this season.
