Commerce Secretary Rajesh Aggarwal on Wednesday, December 24 said that various free trade agreements (FTAs) will open up more overseas opportunities for professional services like chartered accountants, doctors and architects. India will help open up overseas opportunities for these professionals.
India has signed three such trade deals this year which include agreements with the UK, Oman and New Zealand.
He said that India has immense potential to meet the growing global demand for professional services and urged professional bodies like the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) to actively organize and participate in international conferences.
Aggarwal was speaking at the ‘Expanding Global Horizons: Opportunities for Indian Professionals’ event in New Delhi on Tuesday, December 23.
Recently, the FTA with New Zealand was officially concluded on Monday, which includes a commitment of a quota of 5,000 visas for professional yoga instructors, chefs, AYUSH professionals, IT, education teachers, nurses and caregivers.
