Fresh traffic advisor released for Jammu-Srinagar highway on 6 August

On August 5, 2025, on August 4, 2025, traffic movement on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) was slowed from two heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) and Nashree-dalwas and the breakdown of single-lan restrictions running in Nashi-dalwas and Marog-Kishwari Pathar, slowed from 5 August, 2025 to 1600 pm to 1600 pm.

To reduce traffic flows and ensure commuter security, the traffic department has issued several advice:

Residents of Rasi, Katra, Udhampur, Patnitop, Doda and Ramban need to carry legitimate photo ID cards after cut-off timing, so that troublesome problems of trouble-communities to facilitate problems.

Passenger vehicles and LMV are strongly advised that they are only going to travel during daylight, especially due to the risk of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal.

Operators of HMVS/LMVs are advised to transport perisals or livestock to follow the daily advice issued by the traffic police. All such vehicles should be loaded quickly and parked at the designated places (between the Navy Tunnel and Levadura) before 9:00 am to ensure smooth movement.

Vehicle owners are urged to avoid overloading, ensure enough fuel, and check the mechanical fitness of vehicles before starting their journey.

Additionally, HMV with only 6 and 10 tires is allowed to ply via Dhar Road, and passengers should avoid unnecessary stagnation between Ramban and Banihal, especially in landslide-prone areas.

Traffic plan for August 6, 2025:

Under proper weather and road conditions, Shri Amarnath ji Yatra (Sanji) convoy and LMVS will be allowed to travel in both directions on NH -44. However, HMVS TCU will continue on the alternative-day movement, with the coordination of Jammu, Srinagar and Ramban.

Cut-off timing for passenger vehicles:

Nagrota (Jammu) to Srinagar: 0600 to 1200 pm

Jakhani (Udhampur) to Srinagar: 0700 to 1300 pm

Qazigund to Jammu: 1130 to 1400 pm

No vehicle will be allowed outside these cut-off windows.

Hmvs movement:

Depending on the weather and road conditions, HMV will be allowed from the Navy Tunnel (Kajigand Side) to Jammu, with no movement after 1900. Coordination between TCU Srinagar and Ramban is necessary for the release of vehicle.

In view of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025, all fuel tankers, LPG carriers, and other freight vehicles should be used to use the Mughal Road returning to Jammu for 10-Lares, according to the instructions of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir (no. Divcom/Dev/120/225/7055-7075-7075).

Additional Road Update:

Kishtwar-Sinthan-AANANTNAG NH-244:

LMVs and designated HPSV are allowed in both directions under clearance from NHIDCL.

Time:

Parana to Anantnag: 0800 to 1600 pm

Dakam to Teenthr: 0900 to 1500 pm

Any other HMV issued by SDMS Chhatro and Cokeranag gave a per order.

Srinagar-Sanamarg-Gumari (SSG) Road:

Traffic was allowed in a regulated manner:

Minamarg to Srinagar: 0500 to 1000 pm

Sonamarg to Kargil: 1130 to 1730 pm

There is no movement beyond these times. The security force does not disrupt travel traffic to ensure the convoy movement.

Mughal Road:

Open for LMVs in both directions, while HMVs (up to 10 tires) are allowed only after the advisor of Divcom, only between Shopian to Poonch between 0700 to 1800 pm.
