French Culture Minister Rachida Daati posted on social media site X on Sunday morning: “There was a robbery at the opening ceremony this morning.” @MuseeLouvreThere are no injuries to report. I am on site with the museum teams and the police. “Investigation is going on.”
The world-renowned museum also posted on its X account, announcing that it would remain closed for “extraordinary reasons.”
