Patna: The Congress Working Committee (CWC) will call its meeting at Sadakat Ashram in Patna on Wednesday before the Bihar assembly elections.
The meeting will be noticed by Congress President Malikrajun Kharge, Lok Sabha leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi and all 170 members of the committee.
While the Congress has described the meeting as important in the background of unemployment and under the NDA government, the law-and-order situation in Bihar, the BJP and its allies criticized the party, alleging that the elections were coming.
Speaking about the event, All India Women’s Congress President Alka Lamba told IANS, “There was a really meeting in Patna before independence. However, this is the first time that the Congress Working Committee has met in Patna since independence, and has great importance.”
He said, “Congress across the country is calling Bihar including Bihar to reflect.
DK Shivkumar, Vice President of Karnataka, who arrived in Patna on Tuesday, also expressed confidence in the possibilities of Mahagathdanan.
Speaking to reporters at the airport, he said, “Bihar is a very good state with hardworking people, but it faces a serious unemployment problem. The government cannot provide good governance, due to which Mahagathanan was formed earlier. The whole of India is here to support the block Bihar. We believe that change is the biggest challenge.
Former Congress MP PL Puni said that the issues faced by the nation will also be discussed during the meeting.
“Elections are to be held in Bihar, so this is an important meeting in that context. The issues that are facing India do not want to accept the government, will be discussed,” Pani asked reporters.
However, the NDA leaders rejected the Congress’ move and claimed that the party would be lucky like other states in Bihar.
Talking to reporters, Union Minister Chirag Paswan said, “I am happy that CWC remembered Bihar. No one remembers the CWC meeting in Bihar. This is a pressure politics. They are feeling pressure. Also, the Congress has not agreed to the name of Teej as Bir.
BJP national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain also reduced the Congress’ move, saying, “Congress also held a CWC meeting in Delhi, and got zero seats in Delhi. No matter how much meeting it does, nothing is going to happen. The Congress party is not going to be.
BJP MP Janardan Singhwal expressed confidence in NDA’s return to power.
Speaking to IANS, he said, “People of Bihar know that even after so many years of independence, this meeting no longer has any real impact on them. In the past, when these leaders were in power, they ever called such meetings.
“These meetings will not have any impact on the people of Bihar, who have already rejected them after seeing their previous works, money, scams and mismanagement of corruption while in power. People of Bihar will never accept such corrupt leaders, because they only believe in PM Modi, and we believe that Nitish Sarkar will come to power again at this time.
