Four teenagers, including a teenager, feared dead after Russia launched rocket in eastern Ukraine

Ukraine’s Donetsk governor Vadim Filashkin said Russia fired three rockets into the city

Kramatorsk, Ukraine:

Russia fired rockets into the eastern Ukrainian city on Saturday night, killing four people, the governor of the Kramatorsk region said.

AFP reporters in the city saw rescuers carrying a victim out of a two-story house in a white body bag as they dug through the rubble looking for survivors.

Vadim Filashkin, the governor of Donetsk, Ukraine, said Russia fired three rockets into the city.

“Under the rubble of one of the houses there may be a family of four, including teenagers aged 14 and 16,” he posted on Telegram.

AFP reporters saw dozens of rescue workers at the strike site, working under lights, sometimes carrying rubble with their hands and shovels.

At one point, they turned off floodlights powered by loud generators to listen for signs of life.

The attack left a two-metre-deep crater next to the house and people are feared dead.

Kramatorsk is about 20 kilometers (12 miles) from Ukraine’s eastern frontline.

The city has been hit by several Russian attacks since the war broke out two years ago, including an attack on the city’s train station in April 2022 that killed more than 60 people.
