Former Pakistan cricketer Javed Miandad has praised his relative, gangster don Daoud Ibrahim, saying he “did a lot for Muslims”.

In an interview on the YouTube channel of Pakistani journalist Hassan Nisar, Javed Miandad talked about Dawood Ibrahim, whose daughter was married to his son.

“I have known him for a long time… from Dubai. It is an honor for me that his daughter is marrying my son. She is well educated and studied in a convent and university,” Miandad said.

“He (Daoud) did a lot for Muslims. This will be remembered for a long time,” he added.

Miandad’s son Junaid married Dawood’s daughter Mahrukh. In 2005, the pair married in Dubai amid unprecedented security.
