Milwaukee (AP) – Former Olympic wrestler and MMA star Ben Askrain, who was hospitalized in Visconsin following a serious case of pneumonia, said A post on social media On Wednesday that he passed through a double lung transplantation and is in recovery.
During the Instagram video, Oscrain said that he remembers much less than a month’s stretch from late May to the first two days of July. His wife, Amy, said in a series of social media posts that Askraine was placed on a ventilator in June and on 24 June was placed on the donor list for lung transplantation.
“No remembrance, zero thought, no idea what happened,” Askraine said about most of the last six weeks. “I just read through my wife’s magazine. It’s like a film. It is ridiculous. I only died four times, where Tikar stopped for about 20 seconds.”
Askraine said that he lost about 50 pounds during a 45-day stretch.
“The thing that was the most imperfect to me was all love,” said Askraine. “It was almost the same as I got my funeral.”
40 -year -old Askrain was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, but he lives mainly in Visconsin, where he runs a young wrestling academy. She won the NCAA title in Missouri and competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics for the US before going to MMA, where she fought for a bailor and a championship before going to UFC.
In October 2019, after the loss to Demian Maiya, asked by MMA retired from MMA. He did not have a record of 19-2, with no competition.
Oscrain made a brief return to Combat Sports in April 2021, when he met social media star Jake Paul in a boxing match. Paul won by technical knockout in the first round of a battle, selling around 500,000 at the pay-per-view.
