Tom Hicks, former owner of liverpool FC died in Texas at the age of 79.
A spokesperson confirmed that Hicks died peacefully surrounded by his family in Dallas on Saturday.

“I knew George Gillette from previous business deals we did together, where I owned 85 percent of the firm and he owned 15 percent, and it was impossible to deal with him.
“Then why would I make a 50-50 deal with that guy? Well, shame on me!”
In the United States, Hicks owned the Dallas Stars of the NHL and baseball team from 1995–2011. Texas Rangers From 1998-2010.
“However, being side by side with him was always about much more than the ballpark and the stadium,” dallas cowboys owner Jerry Jones said in a statement.
“It was about personal respect, trust and friendship. We covered many miles together and I will miss him greatly. My condolences to his family.”
Mr. Hicks co-founded Hicks & Haas in 1984 and Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst in 1989, helping to reshape private equity and investment strategy.
He served as a paratrooper in the Army Reserve and was a commissioner of the American Battle Monuments Commission.
Hicks is survived by his wife of 35 years, Cinda Cree Hicks, and their six children: Thomas Olise Hicks Jr., Mack Hardin Hicks, John Alexander Hicks, Robert Bradley Hicks, William Cree Hicks and Katherine Forgrave Hicks.
His children issued a joint statement saying: “Of all the things he accomplished in his remarkable life, Tom Hicks’ most cherished title was ‘Dad’.
“No matter what hardships and tribulations he faced in life, he remained steadfast in his generosity and love for his family. He remains a guiding force for our family, and we are extremely honored to continue expanding his legacy.
“Although we are heartbroken by this loss, we are so grateful to have had their children.”
