Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi was allotted a new residence by the Nitish Kumar government on Tuesday. With this decision, the RJD leader will have to vacate the bungalow which he has occupied for many years.

According to a notification issued by the state building construction department, Rabri Devi has been allotted 39, Hardinge Road, which means she will have to leave 10, Circular Road, which is located close to the CM residence and Raj Bhavan, and which has served as the RJD’s camp office for years.

Reacting to the development, RJD spokesperson Shakti Yadav said, “The Building Construction Minister is a sensible person. But, the decision shows how much influence the BJP is exerting on 1, Anne Marg (the CM’s official residence).”

The building construction department is with senior JDU leader Vijay Kumar Sinha.

Meanwhile, Rabri Devi’s daughter Rohini Acharya, who recently alleged that she had to leave her parents’ house due to the misbehavior of her younger brother Tejashwi Yadav, came out with an angry social media post.

Sharing a screenshot of the department’s notice, he wrote, “This is the development model of ‘Sushasan Babu’ (Nitish Kumar has earned this honor for his good governance claims)”.

“(The government’s) top priority is to humiliate Lalu Prasad, the messiah of crores of people. You can throw him out of the house, but how will you throw him out of people’s hearts? If not his health, his political stature should have been kept in mind,” Acharya said, referring to his father and RJD president, who is sharing the bungalow with his wife.

Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said, “The family is being asked to vacate the house as per rules. Given their past track record, a close watch will be kept and it will be ensured that there is no damage to government property.”

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, who is also a former deputy CM, was accused of snatching several things from 5, Deshratna Marg, which he occupied till the party shared power in Bihar.

According to another notification issued by the department, Rabri Devi’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav may also lose the bungalow which he occupied since his days as a minister.

Two other notifications list the bungalows allotted to all the ministers of the newly formed cabinet.

One of these, which was till now occupied by Tej Pratap Yadav, has been allotted to SC and ST Welfare Department Minister Lakhendra Kumar Roshan.

In the recent elections, Tej Pratap, who formed the Janashakti Janata Dal after his father’s expulsion from the RJD earlier this year, failed to get re-elected to the state assembly.
