Amarwati, 7 October (IANS) former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said on Tuesday that the current Telugu Desmm Party (TDP) coalition government in the state has failed on all fronts and has announced an action plan to protest against the privatization of medical colleges through one-thread campaign.
Addressing the party officials here, YSRCP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu highlighted the failures of the government-led government, alleging large-scale corruption, manufacturing and loaded liquor trade and ignoring farmers.
He said that he would visit Narcipatnam Medical College on 9 October to expose the ‘suspicious designs’ of the current TDP -led coalition government to pursue privatization.
He will start the campaign by distributing pamphlets.
One crore signatures will be collected through the Rachabanda programs to be held from 10 October to 6 November.
On October 28, rallies will be held at the constituency headquarters, in which Jagan Mohan Reddy will participate in one of them.
Rallies at the district headquarters are scheduled for November 4.
Jagan Mohan Reddy said that one crore signature governor governor S. Abdul Nazir will be presented on 12 November or on the date suggested by him.
“The former Chief Minister said that the regime in the state has gone out of the track, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, his son Nara Lokesh, and other leaders removed the loot money. While the YSRCP government has ensured transparency in the liquor policy. The former Chief Minister said that the former Chief Minister has unable to get urea, and public health has beaten serious beating due to faulty policies.
“Chandrababu Naidu is spending a huge amount on Amravati, but is unable to maintain the initiative of our medical colleges. We will oppose privatization teeth and nails,” he said.
Meanwhile, four fishermen from Kakinada, who were recently released in Sri Lanka after being imprisoned for 54 days, met YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the party’s central office.
The fishermen traveled to Kanyakumari to buy a boat and when they were caught by the Sri Lankan Coast Guard, they alleged that they had entered their water.
Despite no fish on the board, he was produced before the Sri Lankan court and sent to jail.
On receiving the information, East Kakinada Rural MLA Dwarampuri Chandrashekhar Reddy intervened, informed the concerned officials, and provided communication facility with Sri Lankan officials.
After his efforts, four fishermen were released and returned home safely after 54 days.
Expressing gratitude to YSRCP for achieving his release, fishermen, Pantada Brahminandam, P. Srinu and others said that it was only due to the party’s initiative that they could be free.
