Gadag (Karnataka), Nov 11 (IANS) Former chief minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday said that “for hundreds of years, some global forces and some forces within our own society have attempted to divide and destroy Sanatan Dharma”, adding that “all such attempts have failed, and every power that tried to touch this sacred faith was ultimately destroyed”.
Speaking at a grand event organized by the Atirudra Mahayagya Seva Samiti at the VDSTC school grounds in Gadag, as part of the grand procession and procession of the Kiriya Kumbh Mela here, Bommai said where there is divinity there is God.
“When they see women carrying the sacred Kumbh (pot), they see the embodiment of Adi Shakti herself. Every human being is a center of energy. How they use that energy and for what purpose determines their fame, success and fortune.”
Bommai said: “For hundreds of years, both global and internal forces have tried to divide Sanatan Hinduism, but they never succeeded. Hinduism is based on great philosophy and life of acceptance and inclusivity.”
He underlined, “Therefore, no force on earth can shake it. Every force that tried to harm this religion has been annihilated.”
Bommai said, “Let them, as followers of Hinduism, remain united in the worship of God, do good deeds, live a life of service, seek the blessings of our gurus and through these yagyas destroy their ego and become better human beings.”
The former Chief Minister said that the Central Government will take all necessary steps to suppress the forces creating unrest in the country through terrorist activities.
He said that investigation has started regarding the bomb blast in Delhi.
“Officials are investigating who owned the car, to whom it was sold and whether there were terrorist links behind it. Swift action was taken within four to five hours of the blast,” he said.
He expressed confidence that “soon, not only in the Red Fort, but in the entire country, the central government will take every possible step to crush these forces spreading terrorism and unrest”.
Responding to a question about Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s statement that “India cannot be made a Hindu Rashtra”, Bommai said, “Siddaramaiah is making such baseless statements only to save his (CM’s) chair. He says making India a Hindu Rashtra is irrelevant, but he blames the Center for everything – he is doing a political circus just to retain his chief ministerial post.”
On Legislative Council member BK Hariprasad’s allegation that the Delhi bomb blasts were a failure of the Union Home Department, the former Chief Minister replied, “Does Hariprasad have any other job? Every morning there are incidents of violence here in Karnataka. How many times has the Karnataka government failed? Why doesn’t he question that?”
