Health officials are reporting in Ontario that the number of new measles cases is below for the first time since January.
It is based on weekly data release by public health Ontario, showing eight measles cases reported in the previous week, causing a total of 2,360 infections of the province since the outbreak started in October.
The last time the province reported new cases in single digits. On 16 January, only two cases were added to Tally.
But as the outbreak expanded, the Health Officer several times dealt with hundreds of new infections per week.
The latest data suggests that most of the cases between 29 and August 5 were in South -Western Ontario, East Khasra Hot Spot in Canada.
Last month, the South -West local public health unit did not first report a new case after spring growth.
Public health officials stated that the tendency downwards in the calculation of the weekly case suggests that transmission may slow down, but there is a need for continuous vigilance.
