Emergency services declared a major incident after receiving reports of a sinkhole opening in the early hours of the morning, as millions of gallons of water poured onto nearby land. Two boats ended up in the ditch.
After being awakened by a loud crash, YouTubers Paul and Anthony of Narrowboat Life Unlocked quickly bailed out of their boat when “everything inside the boat started falling apart”.
The footage shows water being sucked into the sinkhole at high speed.
Back in his boat after the “embankment failure”, Paul became emotional as he explained that a man inside one of the sunken boats, Bob, managed to escape.
