Food Safety Department Kupwara intensifies drive against inferior foods

Following the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Srikanth Susse, the Food Safety Department has made extensive inspection drives across the district in recent times. The drive was led by Assistant Commissioner Food Security Rafi Ahmed Dar, along with Tehsildar Kupwara, police team and other officials inspected restaurants and restaurants.

Meanwhile, a consignment of kebabs brought from district Budgam and a consignment of Rista was seized and later destroyed. However, samples of these items have been sent to Food Laboratory, Ghaziabad for detailed analysis, the department said.

In a separate action by the department, two butchers were fined 8,000 in Handwara on August 9 for selling meat. In addition, about 50 kg of unfit meat was confiscated and destroyed on the spot.

All restaurants, hotels and other food business operators have been asked not to sell any frozen chicken, meat, or related items that pose health risk to the public.

Any person working in such unsafe or inferior foods will have to face strict legal action and prosecution in the law of law.

Missbrands, cheap, or unprotected food can attract punishment of up to 5 lakhs, and in some cases, according to the nature of the violation, 3 lakhs.

The Food Safety Department Kupwara repeats its commitment to ensure the availability of safe, clean food for the public and will continue such a drive in the entire district.
