Food Safety Department inspects Eid-ul-Adea in Anantnag

In view of the upcoming EID-ul-Madha celebrations, Food Safety Department Anantnag has launched a comprehensive inspection campaign in various markets of the district to ensure the availability of safe, clean and complete food for consumers during the festival season.

Focus has been at establishments dealing with bakery products, milk and milk derivatives, meat, fruits and vegetables.

Bakery units conducted detailed inspections and directed to strictly follow the hygiene and sanitary requirements mentioned under the Schedule IV of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

During inspections, samples of various foods were collected to assess their quality and safety standards for laboratory analysis. Additionally, 15 food trade operators were recommended for action under various provisions of the Act due to compliance with regulatory criteria.
The department has urged all food business operators to strictly follow the food safety rules in both letters and souls. Consumers are advised to carefully examine packaging and labeling details before purchasing any food products.
