Florida woman disappears in Spain amid bitter divorce

The woman was traveling in Europe and disappeared in Madrid.

A 40-year-old woman from Florida, US, has disappeared in Spain amid a bitter divorce. Ana Knezevich, a U.S. citizen from Colombia, disappeared about two weeks ago, and her relatives claimed they received messages on her phone before she disappeared, the New York Post reported. “Strange Message”.

According to her family and friends, Ms. Knizevic was having a violent argument with her husband, who is from Serbia.

Ms. Knizevic, who was traveling in Europe, disappeared in Madrid on February 5, according to her brother Felipe Henao.

Mr Henao told a news outlet that she was supposed to go to Barcelona to meet a friend but she never got there.

Ms. Knizevic, a resident of Fort Lauderdale, rented an apartment in Madrid in December 2023. Since then, she has been in regular contact with family and friends.

Her brother claimed she disappeared after a man wearing a helmet was spotted covering the apartment’s security cameras with spray paint.

Knizevich’s family and friends became concerned after they started receiving text messages in Spanish from her phone.

The Daily Mail quoted Henao as saying: “That message in Spanish, it was like translated from Google. It wasn’t her. She couldn’t say those words. Like no one in Spanish would say that. Same.”

It said Ms Knizevic had met a man who lived two hours’ drive from Madrid and that she was visiting him for a few days.

The statement added that since there was no phone service where she was going, she would contact her family when she returned.

Ms Knezevich’s friend Sanna Rameau claimed her neighbor last saw the American citizen on February 2.

Sanna Ramo sent Ms. Knizevic a text message on the day she disappeared but received no reply.

The next day, she received a text message on the missing woman’s phone saying she had met someone and they had an immediate “connection.”

Sanna Ramo received a text message: “I will call you when I get back.”

However, Sanna Ramo asked her to send her the person’s address and asked if it was a good idea to go with someone she didn’t know.

“We received very strange messages from her phone, which I have to say were sent from her phone because I don’t believe it was sent by her on the Saturday afternoon after she disappeared. She was met in the street To a man,” Sanna Ramo told WSVN.

Sanna Ramo claimed that her friend was not left alone but “taken away against her will by whom I do not know”.

Spanish authorities are currently investigating the matter further.
