Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Monday was named one of the largest Muslim Civil rights and advocacy groups in the US are equating the move with a “foreign terrorist organization” texas Last month.

Neither CAIR nor the Muslim Brotherhood have been designated as foreign terrorist organizations by the US government.
The order directs Florida agencies to prevent the two groups and those providing material support to them from receiving contracts, employment and funding from a state executive or cabinet agency.
In an emailed statement, CAIR and its Florida chapter said the organization planned to sue DeSantis in response to what it called an “unconstitutional” and “offensive” proclamation.
Founded in 1994, CAIR has 25 chapters across the country.
CAIR last month asked a federal judge to strike down Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s proclamation, saying in a lawsuit that it is “not only contrary to the United States Constitution, but it finds no support in any Texas law.”
The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in Egypt nearly a century ago and has branches around the world. Its leaders say they abandoned violence decades ago and want to establish Islamic rule through elections and other peaceful means. Critics, including autocratic governments in the Middle East region, see it as a threat.
