New Delhi, Nov 13 (IANS) Preparations are in full swing for the grand flag hoisting ceremony to be held on November 25 at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the saffron flag on the peak of the Lord Ram temple.
Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has directed all implementing and construction agencies to vacate the premises by November 15, allowing time to begin elaborate decorations.
According to temple officials, this year’s festivities will be even more spectacular, with the main Ram temple along with all the subsidiary temples dedicated to Lord Mahadev, Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman, Suryadev, Maa Bhagwati, Maa Annapurna and Sheshavtar being adorned.
The rituals and flag hoisting ceremony will be conducted by 108 Acharyas from Ayodhya, Kashi and South India under the leadership of renowned Kashi scholar Ganeshwar Shastri.
The saffron flag, which has the symbol of the Sun on it, represents the eternal energy and divine radiance associated with Lord Rama, who symbolizes victory, virtue and wisdom.
Speaking to reporters earlier on Monday, Ram Mandir Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Mishra said, “The discussions and preparations are focused on the Prime Minister’s schedule. We are ensuring proper arrangements for his visit so that he can visit the temple complex and review all the ongoing construction work. The plan will be finalized based on suggestions from the Prime Minister’s Office.”
He said the main temple structure and six subsidiary temples have already been completed, marking a major milestone in the decades-old temple project. “Most of the work has been completed. Now the focus is on beautification of the temple complex, including tree plantation,” Mishra said.
On the upcoming flag hoisting programme, Mishra said the technical preparations are being carefully monitored. “We want the flag to be hoisted on the main pinnacle of the temple and some technical requirements for the same are being examined. Experts from the Defense Ministry, who are experts in such work, are assisting in ensuring that the ceremony on November 25 runs smoothly without any problems.”
Dignitaries, saints and devotees from across the country are expected to attend the event, which marks another historic moment in transforming Ayodhya into a grand spiritual and cultural hub.
