Raipur, October 5 (IANS) five people were killed and five other people were seriously injured in a disastrous road accident in Kavardhan district of Chhattisgarh on Sunday, when a fast tuck entered a sports utility vehicle.
Victims including three female teachers, a minor girl and driver of the vehicle.
The incident took place on Sunday afternoon under the jurisdiction of Chilfi police station, near Akalghariya Turn in Chilfi Valley with National Highway 30 in Kavardhan district Chhattisgarh.
According to the police, the victim – except the driver – were residents of Kolkata and were traveling from Kanha National Park in Balghat in Madhya Pradesh to Bilaspur. When the vehicle lost control over a sharp turn, his journey decreased and turned back, resulting in a deadly accident.
A police officer said, “Four of them were killed,” a police officer said and said: “The truck was coming and moving towards Madhya Pradesh, local authorities and rescue teams. Bodla replied fast while transporting the injured to the Community Health Center. Due to the seriousness of their injuries, five persons were advised.
“Medical officials confirmed that the condition of three of the three is important. The deceased has not yet been officially nominated, but sources indicate that the group included teachers and family members on a holiday journey.”
Initial reports states that three of them were female teachers. The one who died was a minor and the driver of the vehicle also died. Five others are important.
The accident has sent shockwaves through both the local community and the victims of the victims in Kolkata.
The police have initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident, in which the initial conclusions indicate a potential driver error or mechanical failure at the road hill stretch. The vehicle involved in this has been confiscated for forensic examination and the bodies have sent for post -mortem examination.
The district administration is coordinating with officials in West Bengal to facilitate communication with the families of the victims and arrange for necessary support. Further updates are awaited as the investigation increases.
