Srinagar hosted its first ever Formula 4 racing demonstration event on the banks of the world-famous Dal Lake on Sunday. The event attracted locals and racing fans who witnessed stunts performed by professional Formula 4 drivers.
The stylish racing cars roar along the 1.7-km-long track from Lalit Ghat on the banks of the Dal Lake to the city’s Nehru Park.

The event was witnessed by hundreds of enthusiastic young people lining the picturesque boulevards at the foothills of the Zabarwan Mountains.
According to the local government, the aim of the event is to promote tourism in the area and encourage young people to consider the sport as a career option.
The event, the first of its kind in the Kashmir Valley, is organized by the Federation of Indian Motorsport Clubs affiliated to the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi issued a message saying that this event will further showcase the beauty of Jammu and Kashmir.
“This is very exciting. It will help further showcase the beauty of Jammu and Kashmir. India offers a great opportunity for motorsport to flourish and Srinagar is one of the best places to make it happen One!” he said.

The authorities have made elaborate arrangements for the event, which will start at 10 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. The race features stunts performed by professional Formula 4 drivers.
Professionals also shared their insights and experiences with local young people interested in this adventure motorsport.
