Srinagar/Jammu, May 7, KDC: In recent times with the Line of Control (LOC), at least 10 citizens were killed and more than 50 other children and one paramilitary personnel were included-Budhwar was injured by deep border by Pakistani forces in Ponch and Uri sectors of Jammu and Kashmir.
In Poonch district, heavy mortar and small arms fire from across the border claimed the lives of 10 civilians and around 40 others were injured.
Reports reaching the Srinagar -based news agency Kashmir.com said that the shelling killed several villages, awakened nervousness and forced the residents to flee to safe areas. Officials said the situation is stressful, but under control, high alerts and emergency services have been mobilized in affected areas with security forces.
Some of those killed in Poonach by Pakistani Shelling have been identified as Ayan (14), Aruba (12), Mohammad Akram (40), Qazi Mohammad Iqbal (40), Amriq Singh (55), Ranjit Singh (48), and Balvinder Kaur (33). The identity of the remaining deceased and the injured is being verified, while the hospitals continue to receive the injured among the number of casualties and the fear of growth.
In the URI areas of North Kashmir in Barmula district, 11 peso, Industrial Security Force (CISF) was emphasized. CISF K Karr received minor injuries and Galg area.
Firing in the URI resulted in at least 23 civilian structures damaged, including 16 residential houses and seven vehicles. Many houses had broken walls and broken windows as mortars exploded in proximity.
A resident of Salamabad region said, “It was a bad dream. We were forced to escape our children to run into the bunkers.”
The local administration in both areas has launched emergency relief measures and damage assessments.
This Pakistani shelling is a serious violation of an understanding of the February 2021 ceasefire between India and Pakistan, which was largely held to a large extent.
Officials said the situation is tense but under control, and the authorities are keeping a close watch on the developments with LoC.
Earlier, India said on Wednesday that it launched military strikes on Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir, in which terrorist infrastructure has been targeted in vengeance against a barbaric terror attack in Pahgam, who killed 26 civilians.
