London Fire Brigade (LFB) said they were first alerted to a fire at a single-storey commercial building at 9.31am on Friday. Ten fire engines and about 70 firefighters have been dispatched to the scene on Regent’s Park Road.
It added that the cause of the fire was not yet known.
A woman who lives near the scene of the incident told independent: “The roof of the building has now been burned. There is smoke and visibility is limited at times.”
The fire disrupted Avanti West Coast, London North Western Railway, London Overground and Southern services.
Avanti West Coast to London flights have been reported as far away as Warrington, Cheshire.
Affected passengers can use their tickets on certain alternative routes.
In a statement on its website, National Rail said: “Fire services are attending an incident near the railway line between London Euston and Watford Junction, which means some lines are blocked.

“As a result, trains running between Clapham Junction/London Euston and Watford Junction, Richmond/Clapham Junction and Stratford (London) and Gospel Oak and Barking Riverside may be cancelled, seriously delayed for up to 60 minutes or modified.”
It added that the fire had damaged “rail supply” on all routes between London Euston and Wembley Central stations.
A statement from the LFB said: “Ten fire engines and approximately 70 firefighters are fighting a fire on Regents Park Road, Chalk Farm. A single-storey commercial building is on fire. Most of the neighboring properties are also on fire.
“Adelaide Road is closed between Winchester Road and Haverstock Hill. Please avoid the area during the incident.
“Due to the fire’s proximity to the railway, some routes between London Euston and Watford Junction may experience delays or cancellations. Please visit National Rail for more information.
“One of the fire brigade’s 32m turntable ladders was used on scene to help fight the fire from above. Controllers received the first of multiple calls at 0931 and mobilized personnel from Kent Town, Holloway and West Hampstead fire stations to the scene.
“The cause of the fire is unknown.”
