Ottawa-External Affairs Minister Anita Anand and Finance Minister Franny-Filip Champagne Mexico to hold a meeting with President Claudia Shinbaum to talk on economic growth, trade and security.
His visit is leading to Prime Minister Mark Carney’s planned visit to Mexico to meet Shinbam.
The US on Friday is known as Kasma on Trade with the Canada-United States with a 35 percent tariff in Canada with the US-Maxico Agreement, while Mexico received a 90-day recurrence from the 90-day higher levy.
CUSMA is scheduled for a compulsory review next year.
Ontario Premier Dug Ford last year called for a bilateral trade deal between Canada and the United States as he said that Mexico was serving as a previous door for Chinese auto parts and vehicles entering the North American market.
Anand and Champagne will also meet Canadian and Mexican trade leaders during a two -day visit.
