A good news for Kashmir’s tourism industry is that film shooting has resumed in the valley, six months after the Pahalgam terror attack killed 26 people.

The team of a Telugu film has started shooting at the Pahalgam tourist spot in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, where the April 22 terrorist attack took place.

This comedy film is being directed by Vimal Krishna, known for films like ‘Jesse’ and ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’.

Speaking to reporters, Krishna said that Kashmir is completely safe for visitors and film shooting.

Krishna said, “I want to thank every Kashmiri. We are the first people to come here for shooting. I can say that it is 100% safe. We feel completely safe. I hope more tourists will come here in the coming days.”

The filmmaker said that he was looking for a beautiful location for the film and he found it in Kashmir.

He said, “I thought why not Kashmir? Right now it is completely safe. We came for inspection in July and we did not find any problems. We have been treated very well by the government, security forces and especially the local people, who have treated us like their own family members.”

Krishna said that after completing the Pahalgam schedule, the crew will continue shooting in Srinagar.
