Felipe Drugovich Emphasizes that he “knows his worth” after choosing to make the switch. formula e Next year after three years of disappointing sidelines f1,
Brazilian driver Drugovich, who won the 2022 F2 title before joining Aston Martin As a reserve driver, three largely disappointing years were spent on the sidelines – As he told The Independent – and was unable to land a permanent spot on the F1 grid.
The 25-year-old impressed in various practice sessions and test outings, previously posting faster lap times than Aston Martin race drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, but both of them are contracted to Aston until the end of next year.
Other options, such as a new team Cadillac, failed to materialize and so, Drugovich has decided to move to the all-electric world championship series Formula E. Andretti,
“I came really close a few times [to F1],” Drugovich said after passing Andretti. “It’s something I have to keep in mind, knowing how capable I am and how much I can do on the track. Hopefully, I will be able to work in places where I get a chance.
“I’m glad I have this opportunity. It is.” [Formula E] A championship of huge caliber and people racing at a really high level. I am really looking forward to the competition.

Andretti won the Formula E drivers’ championship with Jake Dennis in 2023 and the British driver will be Drugovich’s teammate for the new season, which begins with the Sao Paulo ePrix in Drugovich’s homeland of Brazil on Saturday 6 December.

Drugovich has raced in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans event the past two years, and has plans to compete in the European Le Mans Series in 2024, but lacks competitive time on the track.
Asked what he would find difficult in Formula E, Drugovich replied: “I think the thing that is hardest is reading the races a bit, how you have to manage the energy during every race and how you are racing and where you are placing the car at every corner.
“I need to be happy in the car. I need to be comfortable with the car. And I also feel like it can give me great results, just being in a comfortable and enjoyable mindset.”
The 2025-26 Formula E season is the final campaign for the Gen3 Evo race car and will be an 18-round season that begins in São Paulo on 6 December and concludes at the ExCe Center in London on 16 August.
