Emerging as one of the brightest young talents in Indian cricket history, Yashasvi Jaiswal has been the lynchpin of India’s batting talent in the series against England. In the Rajkot Test, Jaiswal scored his second century in the longest format of the game. Seeing this young player taking the cricket world by storm, his childhood coach Arif Hussain was reminded of the old times when he had admitted this young left-handed batsman to his academy many years ago. It was Jaiswal’s talent that gave him a distinct identity from the beginning.

Since joining Hussain’s academy in 2007–08, Jaiswal cemented his place in the senior team within the first year.

Arif said, “We always believed that Yashasvi had something special.” India Today,

“We made plans and took him to Mumbai, provided transportation training, and now the results speak for themselves.” Reflecting on Yashasvi’s early talent, Hussain recalled, “He was talented right from the start, we saw his brilliance and today, the results are in front of everyone. I remember admitting him to my academy in 2007-8 And within a year he had cemented his place in the senior team, where we provided him every opportunity.”

Hussain also credited Mumbai Cricket Association for giving Yashasvi a platform to hone his skills.

He said, “It is only with their support that Yashasvi is shining like a diamond and contributing to many people across the world.”
