The father of two boys murdered in Uttar Pradesh’s Budaun has urged police to ensure that co-accused Javed was not shot dead during an encounter and arrested and interrogated to find out that his brother Sajid committed the crime The reason for the heinous crime.

Sajid allegedly slit the throats of 11-year-old Ayush and 6-year-old Ahaan at their home on Tuesday night. Javid’s family claimed he tried to escape with Javid after the incident. Javed managed to escape, while Sajid was caught by local residents and handed over to the police. He was later killed in an encounter. Javed has now surrendered to police and released a video claiming he is innocent.

“Javid must be interrogated so we know why they did it. If he had been killed in an encounter, the secret would never have been revealed. Others could have been involved as well. We need to know if my children were part of the conspiracy “They would kill other people in the family as well,” said Vinod, the boy’s father.

“I want a full investigation into this. Why was my child murdered? I appeal to (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to let us know what happened,” He said. Mr Vinod’s other son Piyush (7) was also attacked but escaped in time.

He said he was pleased with the police response so far. “I just ask them to ensure that he (Javid) is not killed in an encounter so that the secrets are revealed. There could be someone else behind this,” he said, adding that he had no contact with anyone There is no hostility.

The family said Sajid and Javid ran a barber shop next to their home and knew them well. Vinod’s wife Sangeeta said Sajid came over to buy hairpins from a beauty salon she runs on Tuesday night. He then asked her to borrow 5,000 rupees. He said he needed the money because his pregnant wife was going into labor.

Sangeeta says she gave him money and served him tea. She said he then went to the terrace and killed Ayush and Ahaan.

Sajid’s family said his wife was not pregnant and the couple had earlier lost two children. His mother Nagin said she felt for the family who lost their two sons and that Sajid got what he deserved. Police are also interviewing his family in an attempt to uncover the motive behind the gruesome double murder.

Javed, who was on the run, has surrendered to Bareilly police. “I have a recording of a phone call where someone told me what my brother did. He’s my brother, he did it and I’m innocent,” he said in the video message.

Police have confirmed his arrest. Senior police officer Alok Priyadarshi of Budaun said: “Sajid’s brother Javed, the second accused in the murder case, surrendered before the police in Bareilly and produced A video that went viral. Our team is now interrogating him.”
