In another major setback for the Indian National Development Inclusion Alliance (INDIA) group, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah said his party will contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections alone.

Talking about seat-sharing with the Indian group, the former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister said he wanted to make it clear that the national conference will fight on its own.

“Let me make it clear that the National Congress will fight on its own, there is no doubt about it,” he told News18.

He wanted the Lok Sabha polls and the Jammu and Kashmir polls to be held simultaneously.

in his party office nawa e soub In Srinagar, the National Conference (NC) chief said the Lok Sabha polls and the much-awaited Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls may be held simultaneously.

Parties in the Indian alliance had hoped to share seats in Jammu and Kashmir after many parties left. Jammu and Kashmir has five parliamentary seats and the NC said they are dominated by those represented by Farooq Abdullah, Hasnan Masoodi and Akbar Lone.

It will be interesting to see what alternatives the national conference comes up with as Rowan, the MP from north Kashmir, is not in good form.

After the reorganization of parliamentary seats, Rajouri and Poonch became part of the South Kashmir constitution.

The 2024 general election will be held between April and May to elect 543 members of the Lok Sabha.
