Thieves stole lead from roof ChestfieldBetween 26 and 28 September, the prestigious crooked Spire Church, The Church of Saint Mary and the Church of All Saints.
Derbyshire’s Rural Crime Team warned that the damage would cost thousands to repair and would significantly affect the unique history of the Grade I listed building.
The photographs detected the segments of the roof, which highlight the underlying wood paneling.
The incident is the second theft in the church in two months, which is after the August theft of four lead downpipes from the north.
The police is appealing for public assistance, emphasizing that any information, no matter how small, can help catch those responsible for “selfish acts of criminality”.
