family of a person who died helicopter Crash has paid tribute to him.
Police were called to Ings Road in a Bentley. DoncasterOn Thursday morning news came that the helicopter had crashed in a field.
Peter Smith, 70, suffered serious injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pilot, a 41-year-old man, and two other passengers, a 58-year-old woman and a 10-year-old boy, suffered minor injuries.
Mr Smith’s family have paid tribute to their “beloved husband, father and grandfather” who died in the “most tragic circumstances”.
His family said in a tribute, “Peter was one of the smartest people, who loved to spend his time building and fixing things. He had a real passion for aviation, and it was something he shared with his family.”
“He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren doing crafts and playing sports. He was a proud family man who spent much of his time working and socializing with his son. Peter loved eating out with his wife and was particularly fond of sweets.
“We understand that there is currently a parallel investigation underway between the Air Accidents Investigation Branch and South Yorkshire Police which we are supporting, and we ask members of the public not to speculate on the circumstances surrounding the accident.
“We would like to ask for privacy during this incredibly difficult time to allow us to process what has happened and grieve for the loss of Peter.”
