Family caught in police shootout announced a lawsuit against Montreal Police, City

Montreal – A family who was caught in a firing between Montreal police and an armed suspect last year, sue the police force and the city.

Houseums Abdullah and his family members alleged that the authorities carelessly and carelessly acted negligent to them, causing permanent physical and mental effects.

Advocate Virgin Duft-Lamier says Abdullah was shot six times and his son was once shot in August 2024 during a shootout between police and 26-year-old suspect.

The lawyer says that the suspect allegedly tried to steal Abdullah’s vehicle before allegedly exchanging the firing with the police in front of the family house in the Montreal suburb of Dollerd-Des-Ermax, Q in the Montreal suburb of Q.

The family says that Abdullah and his son were left on the ground for at least an hour without medical care and were eventually handcuffed.

Cubec’s Crown Prosecution Office announced in June that it would not make allegations against the Montreal police officers in the case after an investigation into the province’s police guard.
