A pensioner says that he has been left unable to “trust” someone after the Cowboy Builder was out of £ 17,000.
70 -year -old Eric Jordan was cooled in his home Catering, NorthhamptonshireIn October 2024 by a builder who pointed to a loose ridge tile on his roof and offered it to fix it for £ 3,000.
After fixing the roof, Eric claimed that the builder then acted in addition without permission, damaged the bathroom roof and left the house in a “right position”.
Despite being incomplete of work, Eric claimed that the builder again demanded £ 17,000, which Eric paid despite his most Retirement savingsForcing him to continue working. The builder soon stopped showing to complete the work.
A few weeks later, Eric said the builder made a comeback, demanding an additional £ 10,000 cash, which Eric refused to pay, and has not heard of him ever.

Eric believes that the bottled job spoiled his health, as he is suffering from chronic resistant pulmonary disease and was admitted to a hospital in November 2024 for a week after struggling to breathe, which he credits for stress and failure to use the builder’s dust sheets.
Her partner, Lorna Campbell, 69, who has been out of work since 2016 due to diabetic neuropathy, has also been very “stressed” and said she hates her life due to “what did”.
“I am just destroyed, I am lost for words – this has made me and my partner ill,” he said.
“We think we cannot trust anyone. I was planning to retire at the end of last year, but now all this money has gone for nothing and I have to work so we have enough money to live.”

In October 2024, Eric stepped outside his house and saw a builder knocking at his neighbor’s door.
Without any response, the builder approached Eric instead and pointed to a ridge tile on his roof, which was poke in the air, allowing water inside the water, which Eric did not pay attention.
Eric agreed to the builder to fix the roof, which ended the cost of £ 3,000 and was completed without any issue.
He said: “Surely a tile was glued out, I did not notice it until they indicated it … I think they saw an easy goal.”

Then, Eric said that the builder suggested additional work.
Eric claimed that the builder said that he saw a piece of concrete missing on his house bull and he could “repeat the walls” by taking out the mortar from the bricks, and can see it again to dance.
Eric said, without seeking permission, the builder proceeded with work.
Eric said, “Without saying yes or not, he started doing so, but he is adding the original plaster that was in the joints, and started pushing the luggage in it.”

“Originally, it looks like a perfect mess.
“I have found one side of a wall that looks like a child, which is there with sports and filling in the hole.”
Despite his frustration, Eric asked the builder to fix a hole in the bathroom roof.
“He pulled into the hole, and pulled the rest of the roof down,” Eric said.
“They cut the electrix so that the shower could not be used, and it was half painted, and there is dust everywhere – it is in a correct position.”

Lorna said: “This is devilish, when I go to the bathroom, I want to shout … My life is happy to sadness, because of this I hate my life because what he did is feeling me seriously ill.
“I am coming back to them or if I report them, what will they do.
“They left plaster everywhere and still have a lot of dust.
“We pulled the carpet there because they were plaster on it.”
Eric claims that the builder started demanding money before finishing additional work.
Realizing that he had no choice, Eric paid a bill of £ 17,000, which was his most of his savings.
However, after receiving the payment, Eric said the builder stopped turning.
Eric said the builder returned to his door a few weeks later, demanding an additional £ 10,000, which Eric refused to pay.

At that time, the builder parked his van outside Eric’s house and the police asked him to move it, and the builder saw, driving as a sign to leave it.
Eric said that the police informed him that he had contacted Business standardsMany complaints were received about the builder in the area, and advised Eric to report any further contact.
Eric said that he has not heard from the builder since then.
He claims that since then it has been revealed that many neighbors were scammed by the same person, who cannot be nominated for legal reasons.
The individual has gone by many different names, closed a business only to establish each other, and Eric said that a neighbor told him that they understand that the person has also changed his legal name by deed pole.

Eric said: “He was also very careful not to give us anything with his name and he changed his phone number – he never returned to finish work and we could not contact him.”
In November, Eric said he was rushed to the hospital after suddenly unable to breathe – his partner called the ambulance, and he stayed in the hospital for a week.
Eric has a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and believes that stress and dust trigge the episode – the builder did not put any dust sheet down while working.
“It was very scary, I couldn’t really breathe,” Eric recalled.
Eric’s partner, Lorna, is “very afflicted” and “stressed” because she wants to repair and complete the work, but “will not trust any builders”.
Meanwhile, Eric has installed one Money -raising page To cover the costs of future repair and some money on the builder to get “wasted” that did not complete the work.
