To curb rising pollution levels, anti-smog guns were deployed on the Kartavya Path, where water was sprayed in the air as part of emergency mitigation measures. Despite these efforts, visibility remained low in many areas during the morning hours.

Visuals from NH-24 in Ghazipur area show thick smoke hovering over the road, with the air quality index (AQI) recorded at 341, which is in the very poor category. Similar conditions were seen near AIIMS and Dhaula Kuan, where the AQI level was 342, indicating critically poor air quality.

According to CPCB data, a thick layer of smog remained in the atmosphere in East Delhi’s Anand Vihar area and AQI was recorded at 341. The situation was even more serious in the ITO area, where the AQI reached 360 and remained in the very poor level.
Amid the worsening situation, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has implemented all actions under GRAP Phase-IV in Delhi-NCR. Strict measures include curbs on construction activities, bans on certain vehicles and increased enforcement to limit emissions.
Authorities have urged residents to limit outdoor activities, especially children, the elderly and vulnerable groups with respiratory diseases, as the capital grapples with dangerous air pollution levels.
