East nfl Quarterback and sports analyst Mark Sanchez was released from custody Sunday, nearly a week after police said he was stabbed during a fight with a truck driver outside. Indiana hotel.
indianapolis The Metropolitan Police Department confirmed Sanchez’s release. He has been charged with aggravated battery as well as multiple misdemeanor charges for what prosecutors say was a fight over a parking lot.
A police affidavit says Sanchez, 38, smelled alcohol and charged Perry Toole, 69, who had parked his truck in the loading dock of a hotel in downtown Indianapolis on Oct. 4. Tolle claims in the lawsuit filed Monday that Sanchez entered the truck without permission, then physically stopped and pushed Tolle, who then sprayed pepper spray at Sanchez.
When Sanchez moved forward after being sprayed, Toll pulled out a knife to defend himself, authorities said.
According to a police affidavit, Sanchez was hospitalized with a stab wound to his upper right torso. A photo of Toll that has been circulating online shows him lying in a hospital bed with his neck bandaged, covered in blood and a deep gash on the side of his face.
Sanchez was in Indianapolis for Fox’s coverage of last Sunday’s game between the Colts and las vegas raiders,
Sanchez had a 10-year NFL career before retiring in 2019. He spent four seasons with New York Jets and also appeared in games with Philadelphia, Dallas and Washington.
He appeared on ABC and ESPN for two years before joining Fox Sports as a game analyst in 2021.
Sanchez’s defense attorney did not immediately respond to a telephone message seeking comment.
