Ex-husband indicted by grand jury in killing couple found in Ohio home

one Ohio A grand jury has charged a man with killing his ex-wife and her husband in their Columbus home last month.

court records A Franklin County grand jury indicted Michael David McKee on Jan. 16 with aggravated murder and aggravated burglary while using a firearm suppressor.

McGee, 39, is a vascular surgeon who lives in chicagoHe is accused of fatally shooting Monique Tepe, 39, and dentist Spencer Tepe, 37, who he divorced in 2017, in their home on Dec. 30.

No attorney for McGee was listed in court documents.

Authorities arrest McGee in Rockford illinoislast weekend. The hospital where he works – OSF St. Anthony Medical Center – said it is cooperating with the investigation. He is currently in custody after waiving his right to an extradition hearing on Monday. His next hearing is scheduled for January 23 in Winnebago County, Illinois.

Columbus Police Chief Elaine Bryant told The Associated Press on Wednesday that authorities now believe McGee is the man seen walking in a dark alley near the Terps’ home on video the night of the murder. His vehicle was also found driving near the house, and a gun found at his Illinois residence matched evidence at the scene, she said. Authorities have not revealed the type of gun used in the homicide.

His arrest Saturday drew national attention and ended nearly two weeks of speculation surrounding the mysterious slaying. No obvious signs of forced entry were found at Tepes’ home. Police also said no weapons were found there and no murder-suicide was suspected. Nothing was stolen and the couple’s two young children and their dog were not harmed at the home.

Byrant said police encouraged the public to continue reporting. She said emails, phone calls and other information left with CPD helped them gather enough evidence to make an arrest.
