The head of the European Union said that a fair tariff deal is required on both sides.
Brussels:
The European Union is demanding a proper deal on tariffs with the United States, European Trade Commissioner Maros Sefkovic said on Monday, saying that this would require “important joint efforts” on both sides.
“In DC, … seizing the 90-day window for a mutual solution for unfair tariffs,” Sephakovic wrote on X after meeting US Commerce Secretary Howard Lootenik and American business representative Jamisson Greer in Washington.
He said that the European Union “is creative and ready for a proper deal-which includes our 0-for-0 tariff offer and work on non-tariff barriers on industrial goods.”
“A significant joint effort will be required on both sides to achieve this.”
